Anyone accepted to engineering?

Anything know anything about the program?

Anyone attending?

General engineering - I am looking for info as well.

There seems to be a strong connection between the ocean engineering consentration of MEch at URI and MIT and Woods Hole. MIT Ocean/NAME people move on to URI grad or vis versa. MIT Ocean Eng is nearly dead (total 14 undergrad), so the connection may be less useful now.

Mechancial Engineering

Freshman Women (W) 7: Men (M) 61
Sophmore W0 :M46
Junior W3:M44
Senior W6: M76
30% weedout rate Fresh to Soph
7% women (20% is an acceptable threshold)
nearly all student take 5 years

Ocean Engineering (ABET certified)
Freshman W 7:M30
Soph W0: M27
Junior W7: M 15
Senior W2:M 22
I have no clue what to make of these number, although the Women to men ratio at 17% seems to be close to the recommended 20% threshold.

Department of Engineering and SWE are jointly sponsoring an admission event for Women in STEM area on March 28, 2009.
