As I said previously, URI is not worth any extra money.

I suspect that URI has a better reputation than Umass Dartmouth. What is your intended major?

I am undecided.

can anyone else give me some advice? thanks so much.

Actually, UMass Dartmouth has a better academic rep than does URI. But the reality is, I’d consider the two schools to be roughly comparable in terms of rep with employers. To many people, URI wouldn’t be worth the extra cost, because of that. But that’s not all there is to it.

You seem to prefer URI. Is that based only on the look of the campus? If so, then I’d probably still send you to UMass Dartmouth. But if you feel URI is a better fit for you, then maybe URI is a better choice for you.

What I’d have you do is take a moment to think through (maybe even write down) the pros/cons of each school, comparing them. Consider things like cost, location, campus, culture, majors available, reputation… everything that’s important to you.

Then prioritize what’s most important to you. For some, it’d be the cost. For others, cost is less of a concern than are other factors. You need to figure out what’s important to you, and use those things to focus your decision.

One additional thing you could think about doing is taking a day and visiting both schools one more time - or at a minimum, visit UMass Dartmouth to be sure that you really preferred the campus of URI. Sometimes, doing one final campus visit, after you’ve been accepted and are down to your final decision, can really help.
