Trying to decide between URI & UNH Haven't visited UNH yet but plan to this weekend. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Have you visited URI?

I’m pretty sure UNH is considered a better school, and though I haven’t seen it (I have seen URI), I suspect that it’s physically more attractive as well.

Which state do you live in? What do you want to study? It’s difficult to frame an answer without more information.

Students from CT seem to prefer UNH. Are you a hockey fan?

Live in RI. Know URI and have been there several times. Major undecided but accepted into UNH Whittemore Business School. Huge hockey fan!

I’d go with the cheaper one unless the Business School is both what you want and the cost makes sense to you. As you must know, around the region UNH is somewhat better known. But that’s likely because UNH is simply better known and may not reflect anything more than that.

“If money’s an issue …” Well that’s universally true, and an important consideration for sure.

But if you’re asking which school is better regarded, or which school has more school spirit, or which school is crazy for its hockey team … then UNH is your choice. It is rumored that having a “college experience” is more challenging at URI because lots of kids go home weekends.

Good luck with your decision!

Depends upon the Department. UNH Wittmore is reputedly good, but is it substantially better than the business program at URI? Find out.

In other academic fields, like marine science/oceanography, both universities have superior facilities. So it depends on your choice of a major.
