URM kinda

my dad is mexican and my mom is polish. i am first generation and speak both fluently. i also visit both mexico and poland frequently enough. so should i check the "hispanic" box or the "other" box on college applications?

I thought you could check all that apply, hmm, don't know otherwise.

well i mean what would help me out the most?

Hispanic. 10

I have a friend who's half Hispanic half Muslim and has been raised totally muslim, so he recently joined a Hispanic essay contest and and plans to use his Hispanic side to help him in admissions.

both can help, and since you are definately both, check both, it cant hurt you.

it also shows that you are a different person, speaking 3 languages and all, its pretty cool.

~from a fellow hispanic/polish person myself actually :-)

I agree with courtjestr, in checking off both. It could make an interstering personal statement about how you balance and embrace to diverse cultures and being fluent in 3 languages won't hurt either.

courtjestr19 thats awsome! i thought i was the only one!
