<p>Asians aren’t really URMs at any school.</p>
<p>That’s not true. There are some schools that are so undiverse, that Asians are URM’s. Check the Amherst thread. Interesteddad posted the statistics about diversity.</p>
<p>Technically, they are ORM, because there is a FAR higher percentage of Asian-American students at Williams (around 12 percent) than in the general US population.</p>
<p>My family is of Chinese background. In many ways we are no longer considered to be a minority. This is because it seems that statistically we are doing very well in the US. Strange…</p>
<p>The Maine schools, particularly Bates and Colby, actively recruit Asian students. And that might be true of midwestern schools like Grinnell, I’m not sure. It is true of those upper Maine schools. Probably Bowdoin not as much.</p>
<p>Dream on. There is no shortage of qualified Asians applying to colleges.</p>
