How long does it take for UROP to respond after you apply?

usually around august

i applied around may 5th and got in 5 or so days later

i applied the 3rd and got in the 11th

is it difficult to be accepted? or is it more like a first come, first serve basis?

Did you guys get some type of confirmation that they recieved the app? Cuz I didn't?

i'm pretty sure it's first come first serve and i didn't receive any type of confirmation that they received my app

When I applied last year, no confirmation of app, just eventually got a letter saying I was accepted.

I don't think UROP is particularly selective. It's just Michigan's way to get kids involved involved in research.

UROP can be pretty stupid in some subjects, so try and find people who've done it before in your subject and ask them before you decide to go through with it. I know I initially though it might be cool, then found out there's really not much you can do for math research, especially as a freshman.

You do have to apply, but they don't select on merit. It's not like trying to get into the B school or anything. It's pretty much a rolling thing. I tried to get into it freshman year but couldn't because I applied late. However, as soon as I got the mail during college for next year's position as a sophomore, I applied right away and got in. I'm not sure if it's worth it, but you can get work-study money for it or academic credits.

i applied a couple days ago...is that too late?

no ull probably get in
