Yes, I do.

Sorry to double post, but I just realized something.. Does whatever you get from the stafford loan get placed into your account at the same time as the rest of your financial aid (cal grant, etc) which would (presumably) be on the 17th? I had assumed that (because the stafford loan said disbursement is on the 14th) it would be separate from the other aid, but if it isn't that would explain why I haven't seen it yet.

Check your "Financial Aid Awards Summary" or w/e its called on URSA to see if your loans were disbursed. If not, call the FAO.

Yes the Stafford loan has been disbursed, but the other ones haven't, those are scheduled to be disbursed on the 17th.

So we basically wait until the 17th for the loans to come out and then pay for the BAR? Because I think financial aid should cover my BAR payment of $2345.41...and also it says that my "maximum credit card payment allowed" is $0.

You'll probably get some sort of refund. I'm under the impression that they overestimate the costs. It makes no sense for them to estimate your MCCPA to be $0 while giving you a 3-day notice on how much you are to pay additionally.

I called Financial Aid bcuz it says I have 9k to pay, but can make a 4k credit card payment. They said that the 5k difference was due to grants/scholarships UCLA directly controls (read: not loans). Loans would come out the 17th they said (which would cover the 5k I need to pay). I was told that if everything didnt match up (that is, what I thought I should pay to what ucla says I have to pay) call them up after the 17th.

^Yeah, did you look up "Financial Award Summary" whatever on BAR? It should sum things up for you IRT disbursement.

ya I did....just letting everyone that may have taken out loans that they wont be showing up in your BAR bill until 9/17. It may say you have 4k to pay now, but if you have 4k in loans then, as of 9/17, it should say you have 0 to pay.

Around what time today does the BAR account become fully updated? The loans have been disbursed, but not any of the scholarships; however, the total that I owe for September has not changed.

My Stafford loan and Grant still isn't dispersed. My PLUS and private loans are though. Also, my balance still isn't changed. I'm so confused...

Edit: I called and it said evening on the automated call.

I called and they said by tomorrow everything should be dispersed.

Yeah, I called and got the same thing. But thanks!

I talked to a loan person. They start disbursing at 5pm today (19 min ago), however one thing she did tell me is that to get your loans disbursed you need to have taken that "managing debt" online test thingy. You only need to take it once but if you don't take it your loans will not be disbursed today....

What if i completed it at 4:45...

wait so where do we go to check how much financial aid we were given

MrSpan I just did that managing debt class about 2 hours ago....didn't really know we had to do one. The lady I talked to said that as long as I took the stafford, perkins, and ucla debt tests (there were 3 if u remember) then I should be fine. She said that my loans, since I took the test later, will be disbursed tomorrow....also said that if by the 19th they weren't disbursed to call and be put on a "no drop" list which means that you wont be dropped from classes for not paying because technically you are paying but you're just waiting for your loans to be processed.

Oh, awesome, thanks!

Banana - "View Financial... Awards" whatever on URSA.

LaxAttack - you only complete all exams once right?

yes. Each exam (stafford, perkins, ucla) had a page of info and 2 questions...then when you go done you "submitted" it to ucla by clicking on a button and did the other ones...
