US Art School Financial Aiding for Internationals

Of the two schools which I've emailed--SVA and RISD, which are my top two--I've gotten discouraged with the lack of scholarships when it comes international students. Are there any good art schools in America of which you know that offer merit scholarships to us? I'll only have around $60,000 CAD by summer 2013.

The reason I want to study illustration in America is because I feel that I have a better chance at getting somewhere with a BFA in its big cities; Canada looks like it has fewer opportunities than US.

[Etobicoke art students offered $1.6 million in scholarships - Parentcentral.ca](http://www.parentcentral.ca/parent/education/schoolsandresources/article/999686--etobicoke-art-students-offered-1-6-million-in-scholarships)

Some U.S. schools definitely have scholarship dollars available for Canadian students.

Etobicoke is a Canadian school, however. It’s in Toronto…

Yes, I know that. Some of my children attended the school. Did you read the article? It was about U.S. colleges offering scholarship $$ to ESA’s students.

Oh, I didn’t mean an arts high school when I wrote “art school”. I’m attending a public high school in British Columbia, and intend to graduate from there before going on to an arts post-graduate in the US.

I feel like I’m speaking a different language here. I know you didn’t mean an arts high school. The article was about U.S. art schools (colleges) who offered substantial amounts of scholarship money to Canadian high school students who happened to attend an arts high school. So, yes, U.S. art schools (colleges) do, indeed, offer scholarship money to Canadian students.

I’m sure there are and always will be schools in the US which will offer scholarships to international students. I went to the websites of the three post-grad schools in the article but I don’t think that any will suit my style of artwork. Thank you for the link, anyhow.
