Part of the interview will be somewhat like a tutorial. You are likely to get something to read right before the interview, and it will be discussed in the interview in the way that a tutorial happens. Hence the difficulty in preparing. @HazeGrey’s son is CompSci, so would have been given a problem set to work on for a bit then work through with the tutors. You are law, so it’s an unseen reading. In both cases it is meant to be a reasonable extension from what you have already done, not a test per se.
Snap! Didn’t see @HazeGrey’s response before posting, or else I would have just tagged it helpful!
Update 1/19/18: I was accepted to Oxford! I have an unconditional place to study law. I think I learned a lot from this process, so if there are any questions, please feel free to ask me!
Congratulations! Stay in touch with the College Confidential community and share your insights here – many posters will enjoy, and learn from, your Oxford experience.
Well done! I hope you have a great time.
Congratulations! Which college? There was a group chat for all of the US freshers this past year that my son found very helpful. Got to know a lot of people before he showed up in October. Might want to look for one yourself.
Hi, I’m applying to Oxford law this year! I have a ton of questions but I’ll just start with the most pressing. How did you study for you LNATs? What advice do you have on writing a personal statement? Was the interview conducted in person or online? What is the interview format? Thank you so much!!! Congrats again! (Very very jelous of you!
