US Presidential Scholar

In looking at jc1415’s posts on College Confidential, there are several of them where he/she says that he/she has received notification of an award when no one else on the site has. Something to take into consideration.

I contacted the DOEd and below is what I received this morning…

“They will be sent out at the end of this week. The list will be posted on our website this Friday: www.ed/gov/psp

Thank you FromMD for the update.

Congratulations to those students who advanced!

@HeliMom74: Thank you for sharing this. That certainly made it easy to check.

You’re welcome!

Cool, I made it. But I live in a big state so the chances of actually winning are astronomically low hahaha. I wonder how many people bother to fill out the app!

Does anyone know what the next steps are?

Ahh, I made it! Do they take one boy and one girl from each state or something? Also, when do they notify the finalists by?

Winners are notified early May I believe not sure how many they take for academics they take 20 for the arts a few in each category it appears

Results are out. I made it. Yay.

So to qualify for this, you must have a 36 on the ACT? Or probably like a 2380 on the SAT?

The SAT score is only first time test But second does’t count, is right?

I find this thread and topic interesting. Anyone think its possible to qualify for this award with a 35.25 ACT or 141/144 for Texas this year?? Im a male.

Not likely. Texas is a big state with a lot of perfect scores

Doesn’t 1590/1600 = 35.25? I think I may have a shot!

It depends on your state. Top 20 male and top 20 females by state. I would be surprised if Texas did not have 20 perfect ACT and/or SAT given how large it is. Small number of students qualify based on artistic skill but if your state has enough students with perfect scores 35 is not enough

This list is not just based on test scores. There are nominees based on their talent in the arts as well.

I got the nomination; would it be an achievement worth mentioning to colleges as an update?

Just got the letter with a 2290 SAT in RI
