Hi guys,
i really want to take the USAChO local exam next year. The only problem is that I come from a freakishly smart school, and since only 2 people advance to the finals each year, I know that even though I may do extremely well I may not qualify for the next round. Is there a way I can take the USAChO open at a school with less competition(maybe just one person taking it) so that I can qualify based on my score alone and not on my rank in my school?

Nope, sorry, you’re stuck. That’s part of what makes the USNCO local round a little arbitrary. The 55/60 in Northern NJ or SoCal won’t let you qualify but it will be miles ahead of the competition in the Midwest. Those from competitive schools are similarly at a disadvantage.
