<p>How good does a USAMO qualification look on your transcript? How would it affect my chances of getting in to MIT, Caltech, etc?
I'm currently a junior and I'm trying to focus on an extra curricular that both interests me and would boost my chances at competative colleges. I have a feeling if I really focus on studying for math testing now I could qualify for the AIME and possibly the USAMO. Alternatively, I could focus on Science Olympiad (almost guarantee 2 or three gold medals at state), BEST robotics, or some kind of my own research.</p>
