Do you guys think I have any shot at USC? I have a 4.0 but only have 30 credits at the time of application. The problem is my hs gpa was only 2.8. Do you think I should give it a shot or wait another year and accumulate more credits?

Thanks trojanhopeful and congrats! Iām hoping that all goes well with the application process but what I really hope is that USC is really generous with financial aid next year.

OrsonSwells
you can still take classes during fall, and spring

@OrsonSwells

i was accepted to USC with a 4.0 on 26 credits even though i only had a 2.7 in HS. they really like seeing upward grade trends, so i would definitely apply.

@ Orson, you really should try to apply and in order to reach out to them you need to show your desire and determination of how badly you want to get in. By writing well and voicing your philosophies about life/school/etc, you can truly show them that you have changed for the BETTER since high school and not for the worse. So I suggest you do well in your upcoming classes and get straight As, and write a well thought out essay from your heart and you should be fine.

Has anyone finished their essay?? or are most still struggling like me??

@tbibbs: Oh my god, I havenāt even started yet! Iām so stressed out because Iām afraid Iāll leave it until the last minute to finish. I mean, we have until February 1st though to submit it, right?

@tbibbs and BoricuaM, hey guys donāt stress about your essay, its REALLY short, 500-700 words meaning 1 pg single spaced or 2 pgs double spaced, it really wont take long for you to write the actual thing, but correcting grammar and revising it will. In my opinion if u want a good essay, you want one from the heart. When you know you have the exact idea and have the perfect mindset and have inspiration, just write it down like crazy, that way itāll actually feel sincere and uniquely your voice. Although this approach may not work for you, in my opinion is a great way to not stress yourself out and to let the opportunity write your essay rather than searching for that opportunity. In summary, the essay is REALLY short so just take your time with it you have months and months to go!

Iāve finished mine, but as xdzzzrawr noted, there is a plenty of revision required. Iāve kept a goal in mind to have my application in by a certain day. I suggest that everyone else do the same to stay on track and not stray from the application process ā even during the semester.

since i am freshman this fall . do i still turn in the part 1 application . because as of now i dont have a gpa, cause school just started

@Corvin Which school are you going to know? I have access to an articulation history showing which courses in NV transfer over as being acceptable for usc GE categories. This might help you plan out which classes youāre taking this fall/spring. Feel free to PM me if you rather talk about it in private.
