<p>Conductor Michael Tilson Thomas has received the National Medal of the Arts. The distinguished conductor has his undergraduate and graduate degrees from USC.</p>
<p>This is the fourth National Medal of the Arts awarded to USC alumni. Other recipients are opera star Marilyn Horne, composer Morten Lauridsen and architect Frank Gehry. Mr. Gehry is also the holder of the Pritzer Prize for Architecture.</p>
