USC Appeals 2012

… Cannot edit the previous message…

I think 8381 is the number of the original Fall 2012 admits…

did anyone try calling the admission office to find out???

Is it possible for transfer students who were rejected to appeal?

Did any of you appeal admits for Spring 2013 get bumped up to Fall?

The last two years the majority of successful appeals were accepted for the fall. Not sure what the numbers will be for this year.

@USCdad2016 I don’t think that any appeal admits for 2013 would be bumped up for fall. I called the admission office to ask a few days ago and the guy told me that the appeal decisions were final

They do not get bumped up, but a majority of the successful appeals were accepted for fall the last two years. 37 appreals were accepted for fall class of '15 (60% of the successful appeals), and 24 were accepted for spring. A majority of the successful appeals were also accepted for fall Class of '14. Would have to check the website for exact numbers for Class of '14, but it was a majority that year as well.

Hey everyone, I’m a transfer student from a cc, and I haven’t gotten my decision letter yet, I will hopefully receive it tomorrow; but, if you are rejected then what should you include in your appeal letter? :)

Hey guys, i plan on appealing my decision. I am a transfer applicant and have already written my letter, but I was wondering if I should send in an updated transcript or anything else. I can’t seem to find any appeal process information on USC’s website so I also do not know where to send it to. I would assume the admissions office but want to make sure. Any help would be appreciated

@OhioMom3000 & @rara17 - Thanks for the replies. I called the school today and they said that bumps from Spring to Fall can happen anytime throughout the summer, even up to the week before the fall semester starts. They also said that appeal admits do have the ability to be bumped. So we’re just hoping, because it would make things a lot easier.

@dancemasterv Hey my friend got rejected from usc, and she’s a transfer, I was wondering if you could PM me your appeal letter so that she can get an idea of what to write?

Appeal letters usually must contain new information that was not included on the original application. For instance a major award won, a reason for a slip in grades in your past, a hobby you left out of your app etc. good luck.

Just to clarify it must be one page, singled spaced. Mail to USC office of admissions . On the cover letter include your name, USC ID number… I’m blanking on the rest. Can anyone remember the rest of the info that should be on the cover page?

@bbgg thank you so much! :)

@USCDad2016 wow thanks I wasn’t aware of that well at least now we can have some hope. Thanks for the update Ya I had a feeling when I called earlier that the guy didn’t know what he was talking about and was just a grumpy old man. Hah

Good luck USCdad!

Anyone know the deadline for transfer appeals?

Someone will need to email the admissions counselor at USC admissions or make a call to them to get that info. Good Luck . Have transfer applicants appealed before and reversed the decision?

@bbgg
Hi bbgg, did you receive my pm?

Does anyone know when the deadline for transfers to appeal is?
