I havent taken the SAT yet but i am taking it for the first time this May. i took the princeton review and got an 1860 i think, but im sure i can do better. havent taken ACT yet either.

What i would really like to know is info about the portfolio. Those of you who have been accepted, what exactly have you put into your portfolio and what makes a strong portfolio?

This summer i am doing saturday high at Art Center for environmental/product design

i want to get into USC so badly that i have considered applying to the Roski school of art then transferring in after a year or so. (i know there is another application process but i would work to improve my portfolio).

Other Schools im looking at:
Cal poly SLO
Art Center
Long beach state (indus. design)
USD

Thank you!

for the portfolio: stand out. be good at what you do.
I was accepted with mainly digital art comprising my portfolio, and a close friend of mine had all drawings and paintings in hers.

They want to see your creative potential, so showcase your best.

Thanks for the reply!

so having mostly drawings/paintings is ok? if you dont mind me asking, what were your stats?

it should be fine, as long as you vary your subjects.

I had a 2180 and a 3.5uw from a very competitive school that didnt rank
I was also president of the arch club, which probably boosted my application

do you by any chance have any pictures of your portfolio? thanks :)

Private messaged you my site

wow those are amazing! these were the ones you sent to USC for undergrad? they’re really good!

yep… i ended up switching out of arch though haha

oh why? i guess that makes sense though because ive heard its really rigorous.

decided a business administration degree with a minor in real estate development was better for my career goals (I never intended to just be an architect), and I decided that I would get a better return on my invested time this way.

(I plan on getting a Master in Real Estate Development)

you guys helped  i’m looking towards the architecture path as well and can i see your portfolio pictures as well? I dont know if mine is good enough :S

check your inbox :)

My daughter is applying to USC architecture and is developing her portfolio. She has part of it from the summer high school program at Cal Poly Architecture. She needs to add to it. A problem is that she has never seen a successful portfolio used in the application. Would it be possible to see yours?

Thanks

@Arctic92 can you inbox me your site? I submitted my portfolio and I’m freaking out! Don’t know what the standards are.
