USC Class of 2022

@cc4help You may want to start here…

https://admissionblog.usc.edu/5-questions-answered-about-spring-admission/

@cc4help You can check out the USC spring admit web page for ideas:
https://admission.usc.edu/firstyear/admittedspring/springadmits.html

@LvMyKids2, we are in Camarillo. Check this https://www.usps.com/priority-mail/map/ using USC shipping zip code of 90089 and verify 2 day.

@cc4help They do spring admission bc why not fill empty beds - so to speak. When kids graduate early or go abroad - space equals money! Why not admit more? But the stats of spring admit kids do NOT go in incoming freshman profile - therefore most believe the spring admits were borderline or lower stat kids.

@rockrdad101 Do you know if anyone from Thousand Oaks or Westlake Village got his package?

@WWWard Human Biology major with an emphasis for Pre-Med. Human Bio was my first-choice major so I’m super happy.

Do any of you know whether anyone from Westlake Village or Thousand Oaks got his package??? I am super worried and sad right now since I didn’t receive anything.

Does the mail come at the same time as the packages or no?

Yellow means spring. For people who only want to go and graduate from USC, they don’t mind it and make it work by working, traveling or taking classes. Yes it is weird when all the friends ship out and you are left behind. You miss that first freshman move in, and football season if you aren’t local to USC. But you can also save money by taking classes at the local CC. You don’t have to apply to community college, you just go on line and sign up, if there is space in a class you are in. You can sometimes take classes at a four year, but cannot enroll as a full time student in any university. Same with Trojan Transfer Plan, except that is coming in as a sophomore - you are giving up that freshman year at the school you want to attend so you have to decide if another option is better. With TTP however, you can enroll in another school then you apply to transfer like other transfers, and while not guaranteed chance of acceptance with good grades and correct classes are astronomical. With spring admission, a place is held for you, unless you enroll somewhere else full time.

Spring admits - just created a thread to vent and share some ideas. I don’t think there has been a dedicated spring admission thread, but would be good if thoughts are consolidated some where. This thread will be going crazy and have thousands of additional posts over the next 2-3 days so conversations get lost quickly.

@AlexXXi Yes some did

Got accepted! was expecting a rejection because I did not get into UCLA.

@LvMyKids2 I guess I didn’t get in then…

@edszebra Excellent.

@WWWard my son (who got a postcard on 2/22/18 from SDA), won’t know until tomorrow. Zone 2. But will definitely post here for sure!

Anyone from Tustin, CA hear anything?

good luck to all

@polololo GPA: 3.9 (UW) 4.59 (W)
SAT: 1310 (630 Math, 680 R&W)
Class Rank: 1/50
AP’s Taken: World History (3), Euro, US History, English Lang, English Lit, US Gov, Calc AB, Stats (3), Chem, and Psych (I didn’t take the tests for most of them because I didn’t know disability accommodations were a thing until this year when my new school introduced things like 504 plans and accommodations to me).
Dual Enrollment Courses: Human Bio (A) and Macroeconomics (A)
EC’s: Pretty good- I can type it all up if anyone is seriously interested. Basically a few clubs at both schools I’ve attended with leadership positions, volunteering at a hospital, and an internship. I’ve gotten some awards too- most in school or local except for a letter from the White House, specifically from Obama’s advisor, recognizing a short film I created on racism. I also participated in two summer programs: MLT at UCR and Bovard Scholars at USC.
Essays: I’m proud of them and I had a few teachers read over them who liked them. My USC supplements were really great honestly. You can tell how I’d fit in at USC from them.
Accepted: UCR with Chancellor’s, UCSD, and now USC
Denied: Hopkins, UCLA
Geographic location: Southern California, USA
Unique Things: First gen student, serious health problems that at times have affected my school (never grades but attendance, testing, etc), low socioeconomic status

Since I know someone is going to point it out, yes I know my SAT score is low. Something that I think helped me overall is that I suffer from a connective tissue disease called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS). Because of it, I want to become a rheumatologist and help patients that suffer from similar conditions. I feel that I can sympathize with them and understand what they are going through. All of this was kind of the “theme” of my application. You can see my medical aspirations in my extracurriculars, essays, things I mentioned in my USC supplements, letters of rec, etc.

For those forced to wait one or more day(s) for your answer… might I suggest, as a potential distraction, binge watching…

  • Season One of True Detective (HBO GO)
  • Altered Carbon or Spotless or Stranger Things or 13 Reasons Why or Bloodline or Sherlock or Broadchurch (Netflix)
  • Any season of Game of Thrones (HBO GO)

Other suggestions for binge watching?

@hamparyanmomager Good Luck. I’m confident that it means yes… :slight_smile:
