I think we should stop asking if anyone from a certain state got anything. As long as one person has said they’ve received a letter in a certain state, we know it’s possible. Everyone’s post office sorts at different times and sends out trucks at different times. It wouldn’t be out of the norm for someone in NYC to get theirs and someone in Phoenix to still be waiting. Also wouldn’t be strange if one person in Phoenix got theirs and another didn’t. Let’s stop trying to let the postal service determine our decisions for us.
Florida is supposed to be today??
@CADREAMIN or @WWWard - I tried reading through the pages and couldn’t find it. Will FA info be available when the portal updates tomorrow? Thanks
My son received a white box in Wisconsin! He won’t be home until later, so I’m forced to wait for the reaction.
If USC Admissions ever took the time to actually read this thread, especially during a week like this, they might finally realize that it is time to modernize and advance their chosen “old school” methodology of announcing admissions… as all other elite colleges and universities have done so already. I have been on CC awhile and have never seen a poster admitted to Stanford or the Ivies, for example, being upset that they were informed quickly and efficiently… longing for the USC “old school” method instead.
USC can still send out the nice “white boxes” too, but a uniform time to check the portal or to receive an email will also be just as rewarding to the 8250 or so who get in. And it would be much more compassionate to the 56K getting rejected.
This process of angst and turmoil, coupled with the unreliability of USPS, eventually only gets excused or overlooked by the 13% who get admitted. USC needs to think less about those few/rare “mailbox moments” and more about what this process does to tens of thousands of teenagers and their parents. And I am speaking as a parent of two kids who both got in to USC. Regardless, I believe that the process is outdated and inefficient… and in most instances – also a bit cruel in terms of the delayed/inconsistent results.
And now back to your regularly scheduled angst…
@drummerdad. My daughter got the white box yesterday and informed delivery said we “had no packages”. But clearly we did
@okineedhelp I am from Alabama! Waiting on the mail and so far no rejection letter on the informed delivery. What part of AL are you from?
@usma87 No. FA updates on the 27th or thereafter…
Hi Ive been following this page for a while now, but never have posted. I did not get a package today in the mail, but my informed delivery never showed that I have a package, as well as a rejection letter coming. What’s the deal??
Im from new jersey btw
This is madness.
We are away.
We do not know if a package was delivered. We are in the Day 1 priority zone.
Nothing shows up in Informed Delivery. So, it could be the package is there.
Or it could be that the letter has been delayed.
Or it could be that Informed Delivery is missing the letter.
In short, it could be anything and we have to wait for the portal.
We are very anxious.
UPDATE: SOCAL area, if you didn’t receive it yet, most likely rejections. just got my rejection in the mailbox. they send a “frequently asked questions” page. sorry to disappoint you.
@WWWard @CADREAMIN are scholarships (not the merit ones, but the ones besides that, like robotics, jewish leadership etc) supposed to come out on the 27th with Financial Aid?
@SpecialK27 Same here, in New York. Probably means rejection for us, but could mean mail just didn’t arrive today. Just gonna grin and bear it and check portal tomorrow.
Has anyone in Texas received an acceptance package?
We just got our mail in Dallas , and there was no package or rejection letter!
@amelchd It can’t be determined by state, only by city. In Texas the only two day delivery zone is Houston and the rest is 3. Kentucky is split up as well
@heyigotnoclue did you check your informed delivery for the rejection? Mine didnt show anything and im in socal
@anthony1968 idk, because nobody in my school has indicated that they have gotten a package either, so maybe they just have not come to us yet.
May i ask what major she applied for? @Twinmomhell
How many people applied for the Jewish Leadership Scholarship?
