USC Class of 2022

@Sparklestudent I agree, I and many of my friends were rejected by schools we were told by guidance and college advisors were target/or safety schools for us. This year has been crazy. I have no resentment for USC and full well knew it was a reach, but just an observation about many other schools

Got rejected and honestly don’t understand why especially when my major (animation) is portfolio-based. I’m confident enough to say that my portfolio surpasses those of current Usc students. Does USC reject applicants because they’re poor because I come from a low income family (25k/year) and will have to heavily rely on financial aid and scholarships.

Guys im so nervous when is the admission decisions released?

Just so many applicants. There are plenty that would ask if they got rejected because they aren’t low income, or URM or first gen or because they are white, Asian, or a dozen other demographics. There is a lot of everything these days and they have to balance.

But they are need blind and have plenty of money for low income, generally speaking.

Someone near me got accepted (in my city) and I have received nothing, does this mean I am rejected?

I think I’m going to appeal too. I showed too much interest and invested too much into this to just get denied. I’m not expecting much, but It doesn’t hurt to try

@LifewithLia what major did you apply for? lol we almost have the same stats

@ynowzad Both near Los Angeles, one Hollywood other East LA. I live in South LA, still no letter.

Hey all! I live in the NW suburbs of Chicago and didn’t receive anything in the mail today…don’t feel great about that tbh given that one of my friends who lives in the next town over got her white box today. Trying to maintain hope, but it’s quite hard. Hopefully I can return with better news tomorrow!

@polololo I am assuming rejection as I didn’t get anything. Tho keeping a sliver of hope. Going to sleep early and get up tomorrow morning to find out the definite result. This is exhausting

To those of you dreading rejection. I’m a SoCal resident who just received an acceptance letter a few hours ago at around 3:00pm pst. I know how you feel and trust me there’s still time. GPA: 3.6 (w) and a 1290 SAT (No, stats aren’t everything). I was admitted to SCA for interactive media and I think my biggest strengths were my portfolio and my letters of recommendation. Good luck to those of you who are still waiting it out.

@emmawonz We’re in the city (Chicago) and also received nothing today. Looks like DS will find out via portal while he is with friends for spring break. Hope the news is good!

Letter or package? Congrats though!

I got IN! 3.7UW, 4W - so weaker GPA, but I think the 34 act and good ECs pushed me through! My mom went there, so that also is an advantage.

Does someone want to start an emotional support thread. I am in need. This is exhausting.

@collkid what part of SoCal do you live in?? I’m in San Bernardino County and haven’t received anything yet that would indicate acceptance or rejection.

I’ve been checking the portal every hour or so…nothing yet except there was maintenance awhile ago

@polololo I’m so ready for one tbh please start it

do they update our portals??? Im out of town and want to know so bad!!!

I understand nerves… but I have never understood why so many people assume and speculate rejection/acceptances when the portal updates in literally less than 6 hours… like it’s 6 hours… just wait it out?
