Go be happy and check back in with us when you can. Start looking at Explore dates and make some plans! Portal will update eventually to include options to choose date to interview.
@usctrojanz - stats of the amazing scholarship student already earlier in the thread @YLdad1 - congratulations to your daughter! your post about remembering the day as a family was so sweet!
San Diego is often second day, not first. Relatively close - LA basin - to USC is first day. But even Irvine and others that close tend to be second day.
@pdxtigermom it all works out. it was so fun to get the package and it really is a very special thing to be recognized. BUT, I think one has to shine in the interview and really be wanting to go to USC. I think that was some of the issue. I am not sure how much excitement came through or maybe it went the other way and knowing that we have alumni in the family from USC, they thought “oh she is going to come here even if we don’t offer her a scholarhip”…well, in any event, without the full, she had ZERO interest of going. This is all so exciting though!
If you can let you kids find the package that is so fun rather than a text…especially if they don’t know it is coming…mailbox or kitchen counter moments are the best if they can work for you!
I heard USC plays yield game. For those over- qualified, you may not get an acceptance letter. I know two cases last year. Two boys got accepted by Stanford, and some IVYs, but rejected by USC.
@LvMyKids2 I’m not supposed to be in this thread but our thread is so small it only has three pages so far. We are a small group of juniors applying USC’s RHP. I’m just here to feel the excitement and get some experience.
