Got one in Los Angeles, 1520 sat and 33 ACT. 3.9 unweighted GPA and 4.5 weighted. 800 in SAT Bio E and M, and 770 in SAT Literature. I have 4s and 5s for my AP scores. I think my profile is what hooked them, as I am an immigrant who came from Brazil at age 4 as well as someone with a learning disability. I’m waiting until April to make my decision, as my first choice (Stanford) releases it’s decision then. This has given me hope that I can do it, but this whole thing is a crapshoot in the end.
I got in!!! Western Massachusetts got the packages
Just got home nothing for me I live just down south of D.C. Anyone living in the D.C. metro area get anything yet?
Any in Florida?
Did anyone from Jersey get anything?
Did anyone from Wisconsin get one today?
@just4years Correct… both were only admitted in March… i.e. - no merit. Also neither was NMF. They were applicants to SDA and SCA though, so that complicated matters… as discussed previously. Both were 3.98 unweighted GPA or better, ranked in top 5%, lots of APs, standardized tests in the 98th percentile, strong ECs and Essays, etc - but no - that did not equate to merit offerings for them. I’ve been an observer and poster here for 4+ yrs now and have seen lesser #s garner merit… but it would be a mistake to only evaluate such posted #s. Again – other factors are potentially at play too… the first choice major being sought (merits are divided up by Schools), URM status, First Gen, QuestBridge, geography, other diversity considerations, etc. While my girls were mildly disappointed in January, neither expected a merit offering. We were perfectly content with getting the white boxes in March instead.
@ventri Congrats! Super accomplishment. Only 20 could claim so last year I believe.
@Laketahoe79 You can get some hints as to how many Trustees are offered based on the USC Explore spots. In past years, the first two dates are for Trustee (& other full tuition), and the last three are for Presidential candidates. So roughly 40% of the interview spots are for full tuition. If they send out 800 boxes, that would be 320, if they send out 1200, that’s 480. Due to a slightly higher yield for full tuition, the real number may be toward the 300 side of that range. The reason why the yield is only about 1/3 is that pretty much every candidate for full tuition will receive multiple great offers from fabulous schools, including both full tuition and the holy grail of full ride (worth about $20k/yr more than full tuition). I can’t remember how many Explore slots there were per session when my child went a few years ago, but 150 - 175 sounds about right. Add maybe a hundred more who never sign up for the interview because they have already decided to take other offers, and it could be 300 -450 boxes.
Regarding comments that say this means that the unaccepted merit offers were “wasted” – if the yield were historically higher, then they would just make fewer offers. It does not affect the total number of merit scholarships awarded in the end.
Has anyone received a box in Virginia?
Anyone is Chicagoland area hear yet? And everyone getting a letter no matter what? Like either saying that you aren’t considered for scholarship or the box says got one?.
@pamelaaaa41 I have not.
Anyone in Arizona hear anything yet?
400-450 trustee boxes go out. 110 end up at usc.
Portals tonight after midnight.
@CADREAMIN What will the portal say if you received a scholarship but haven’t received a package?

Congrats to all who received the package! You totally deserve it.
I live in Central Jersey, haven’t received anything in the mail. Haven’t seen any other people in jersey receive a package yet on this forum. Good luck to all those waiting for a package, for a portal update, or for decisions in March/ April.
