USC Class of 2022

@WWWard how do you let them know you are highly interested in USC? I applied to Vertibi. What should I do?

Anyone hear back in San Diego?

Hi! I’m sure this has been answered at some point, but I’m still a little confused. I’m going to be interviewing for Presidential and I know it’s possible for me to get this scholarship, a smaller one, or even a larger one. How common are each of these outcomes? Is it more likely that I’ll get presidential or more likely that I’ll get nothing? I’m a little confused about the interview process. Am I in competition with other presidential scholarship finalists for a limited amount of spots? Thanks in advance!

By the way, if it helps anyone, I am northern New Jersey

I didn’t get anything in San Diego :frowning: but I’m pretty sure they would have been sent here.

Nothing in NYC (Queens, specifically). I’m pretty sure all NYC people got their boxes. I will still check the portal in the morning but I’m not expecting anything.

Most people get scholarship they interview for. Very few are bumped up but some do. Some get bumped down but the majority get what they interview for. The lowest you can get is the Director’s which is 4K. No interviewee has left with nothing.

Should Louisiana have received something today?

Anyone in Arizona hear yet? Additionally, what time are the portals updated?

We are from Bergen County and my daughter received the box.

New Jersey

@ZNanoKnight Haven’t heard anything from Arizona…

@ZNanoKnight also from AZ, haven’t heard anything. Very possible that I just did not qualify because my GPA is a bit low

Just got home from soccer practice and saw the white box waiting at my doorstep. I honestly can’t believe it. I live near Atlanta so I did not know if it was coming today or I just had to keep waiting. Ecstatic to go interview for the full-tuition scholarship. I will be posting stats for other prospective students in the other thread. Good luck to everyone!

Has anyone received a box in Maryland yet?

Has anyone received anything in Michigan yet???

@stlouisphoenix if you dont mind me asking, what’s your gpa?

anyone in Norcal received anything???

@futurecollegeguy

Well, I guess that it really depends on you and your level of interest / commitment. I am not exactly sure what my daughters said to USC and to the Schools that they were applying to, but I do know that they each directly emailed both the admissions office for the School itself and their assigned admission counselor to make it clear of their interest in USC as their top choice, confirming that they will in fact commit to USC & attend USC if admitted. Publicly, USC may state that they care little about their yield rate languishing in the mid-30s, but I contend that they actually do care greatly and wish it were higher. One way to do so is to admit students that they are confident will attend. I am sure that most applicants to USC make it appear in their application or essay(s) that they are really interested in USC, but I doubt that many of the 55K+ actually go further and make firm declarations to USC.

I suggest reading through the following very helpful insider’s guide to USC admissions…

https://tfm.usc.edu/a-guide-to-uscs-college-admissions-process/

You will see within it how they actually suggest you tell them if USC is your #1 choice. So… if it is true in your case, then let them know.

Good Luck…

I’m in NorCal and got nothing
