USC Class of 2022

I thought it was a white box we are waiting for for an acceptance? IS that only for scholorship and now its a colorful envelope?

Colorful folder inside white box. Same boxes sent for acceptances in March. As a whole, it is very pretty.

By any chance, would anyone happen to know the acceptance rate of Dornsife? Is it relatively higher (or lower) than the holistic average of 16.5%? Thanks

The professor called and asked about where she sees herself in future and why she wants to go to USC. He said her portfolio and application “piqued our interest.” Phone call was 5-10 minutes long. Her grades and test scores alone would make USC a reach school.

@Johnnyvan Who was the professor who interviewed her?

@Johnnyvan: Can’t help but see that phone call as a major positive! She must be very talented.

I wouldn’t post professor’s name.

True, ill pm them. thanks!

There has been a lot of speculation over the years regarding the issue of SCA interviews because many do get in without every being interviewed and many also get rejected without ever being interviewed. Also, many who are interviewed still do not get in. Some have speculated that professor-requested interviews are primarily for those applicants that may be “on the bubble” or where clarifications may be deemed warranted via the faculty requesting the interviews.

With SCA, the acceptance rate is only in the 2-11% range anyhow, depending on the major, so 89-98% get rejected (again, depending on the major) any way you look at it. But these are creative majors and so much of that holistic review process is entirely subjective. A good interview could of course aid your efforts.

I would be inclined to think of it as a good thing… or at least as one more opportunity to put your best case forward. But please do let us know the final results later so that we can maybe assess the potential value of such requests going forward.

Good Luck

Does anyone know the acceptance rate for Viterbi? Now that I know that I’m a National Merit Finalist, I want to get into USC so so so badly and get that half off tuition

10-11% is what we were told at acceptance event when my S got into CS.

yo whats good dawg hit me in my pms. big business to talk my g :))

Ok so for national merit I really messed up and forgot to put USC as my top-choice school (I just requested it now), am I still considered from the national merit presidential scholarship or did I name them too late?

You have till May 1st to declare USC as your top choice school, so now you just have to be admitted. Good luck!

Yes, @18college1111 , CADREAMIN is right. It’s not a problem at all that they’re not your number one choice at this point. Just list your choice after acceptances come out.

Hi! when do you all predict the decision will come out? I see some have already been coming out, scholarships and all, but just the regular acceptance bulk?

@sstayingpositive Last year, the admission packets were mailed on March 23rd. The first posting of a packet arrival was in the L.A. area on March 24th at 10:37am (Eastern). Portals updated online on March 26th at 3am (Eastern).

Any truth to the rumor that there is a limit on NMF students admitted because of the Presidential scholarship that goes to them?

No. They go after who they want. NMF kids tend to have lots of choices. You are not penalized for being an NMF in th admissions process

Can someone tell me the most cost effective way to get back and forth to the airport? And how long does it take? I just discovered that there is no shuttle service provided. Thanks.
