USC class of 2023 Applicants Thread

I didn’t get in USC, I am waitlisted. My question is about NMF 1st choice school. Should I move it to other school or keep it on USC, and hope to get in later?

@r5r11r They don’t waitlist at USC.

@cag60093 Hi! My son was admitted to SCA’s IMGD program. Where does it say in SCA that there is a foreign language requirement?? All I could find is that students in SCA have to satisfy certain core literacies, writing, etc. Under foreign language in Dorns Life, it says “some of the professional schools (see listing for each school’s requirements) must also satisfy the foreign language requirement.” BUT I can’t find where it says 2 years of a foreign language is required for SCA (in my son’s case, in IMGD)! HELP!!

@CADREAMIN I think some of the majors do offer waitlists but I don’t think @r5r11r is the case. I remember there were a couple of dancers, one from last year and one from this year were waitlisted by the dance school.

Here ya go @lakergirl6232

https://admission.usc.edu/wp-content/uploads/AdditionalCourseworkbyMajor.pdf

It’s part of the transfer guide, but it is the one place that has all the schools listed that have FL requirement.

@lakergirl6232 Here is the link to degree requirements… http://catalogue.usc.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=8&poid=7338

Then, on that page, there is the link to GE Requirements…

http://catalogue.usc.edu/preview_entity.php?catoid=8&ent_oid=1711

Again… it is my understanding that BA degree programs within SCA have the foreign language requirement… while BFA ones do not. My daughter for example is CAMS, and she had such.

@pdxtigermom That’s why I asked them what major. I didn’t want to lead others to thinking they have waitlists. Only Thornton where they are accepting like 5 kids into a program does this. If one doesn’t commit it’s a big deal so they may offer the spot to someone else. It’s like the informed delivery, one person says they have it and everyone thinks it applies across the board.

FYI, Financial Aid summaries will be released March 27th for students who have completed the application process.

Thank you @CelestialDreams
Is that info posted somewhere on the USC site?

@WWWard Thank you.

@lakergirl6232 This is for animation and digital arts: http://catalogue.usc.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=8&poid=7332

There is a link on this page for gen ed requirements.

@r5r11r I’m from southern Brooklyn, NYC and I haven’t received my package either, despite being part of the 2-Day window.

@CADREAMIN @WWWard, Thank you two for your constant updates, very helpful. Presidential awardee is guaranteed to stay in McCarthy Village for all four years or only for freshman year? Thanks

McCarthy (the dorm) is a freshman only dorm

Note: financial aid just came out, go check it. if its not there, it may come in waves!
