SC is my first choice and I’m excited to be nominated for a Presidential scholarship. As you can see, my numbers aren’t that high so I’m comforted with the fact that SC does review applications holistically. I hope I can bring some hope to other prospective students.

Other Factors, hook?:** Legacy (dad and grandfather both alumni)

General Comments, scholarship chances, status info, going to USC…?: Dean’s scholarship letter through a few days after. I have a likely letter from Duke, still awaiting decisions from Stanford, UCB, UCLA, Rice, Harvard, Yale and Columbia. Probably wouldn’t attend Harvard or Yale if they accept me (unlikely), but if I get accepted by Columbia (also unlikely), I’d go there. If not, then it will probably be between USC and Stanford, as although I am tempted by Duke, I think the location might work against it in the end. I think I’d rather be in NY or stick to home in CA. UCB is far too close to home, so I think my parents would expect me to commute in, but if they say I could live on campus (very unlikely) then it would enter the mix.

DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THIS UNLESS YOU ARE A CURIOUS RHP APPLICANT. THIS WILL NOT APPLY TO MOST PEOPLE.

General Comments, scholarship chances, status info, going to USC…?:
I applied to the Resident Honors Program as a junior. My stats will be different from most of the normal applicants’.

If any future RHP applicants are reading this, this is for you. If you have gotten accepted, congratulations! I wish you the best at USC. If you have not, you can enjoy your senior year and have another chance to apply to USC and other colleges. Both the acceptance and rejection letters present different opportunities, so no matter what happens everything will be okay in the end. While I am only slightly disappointed that I did not get in (I was kind expecting rejection, so it thankfully wasn’t too much of a shock) I am eager to apply to USC next year as a senior.

Good luck to all applicants!

Can I gently remind all posters that this particular thread is intended as “Stats Only.” All other comments can be posted on other threads. Each year we keep one thread clear so all future applicants can check on results/stats for this cycle. Sorry to be the enforcer–but STATS ONLY please. ;)
