Hello, I’m a transfer student looking to get into USC.
In the midst of trying to keep up to date with all of the UCs applications updates/requirements, I made the mistake of over looking important deadlines for USC.
First mistake:
In the beginning of the month I had made sure that I was aware of the deadlines for FA across all of the UCs I have applied for, I mistakenly took the “continuing students” March 2nd deadline for USC as the same for new/transfer students. Seeing as March 2nd is the deadline for all of my UCs I thought I had nothing to worry about. Not until this morning did I discover that the deadline for new/transfer students CSS application was due on Feb 13th. Today I am submitting my FAFSA renewal, I thought I was on top of things but I clearly am not.
The FA page says I can still apply after the deadline date, but I fear how much this will hinder my financial package. As I’ve read that USC is quite good at meeting financial needs, especially for those who are in need.
Second mistake:
Prior to submitting my app in January I had called the admissions office to verify whether I needed to submit a “Secondary School Final Report”, I was told no. However, I confused this as being the same as a high school transcript. I logged into my youSC account only to find that I still have to submit my high school transcripts. I’m a first generation college student so I had no idea that those were two completely different documents.
So, am I looking at a low chance of acceptance and if I am accepted, a crippled FA package?
Also, is there a deadline to submit my high school transcript? I can’t seem to find that information anywhere online, I plan to do it this week but I have no idea if I’m too late.
