USC gpa?

is there any one get in USC as a transfer student with a gpa lower than 3.5?

Also, Let's say the average acceptance gpa is 3.6, how about those art school, for example the animation or film program, if i have a great portfolio, May I have a chance to get in with a gpa lower than the average ?

Be aware that the film program at USC is easily the most competitive at the school and likely one of the most competitive in the country. That being said, while your GPA is important nothing can replace a great portfolio.

Apply to something not as competitive as film and when you get in to USC you can do an immediate transfer. A lot of classes from the film department, you can take without having to major in it. Apparently, it's easier to transfer in within USC.

Like they said the film school in USC is one of the hardest schools to transfer into, though yet again my friend transferred into USC as a Sophomore (he applied for the general school) and he got into the Film STUDIES program. So it is possible. He tried to get into the Production major, but got Studies instead, so it depends on what you want to do. Obviously Production will be harder to get into than Studies.

Also, if it's just art you're interested in that's way easier to get into than the Film school. But also keep in mind USC is not an art school, so if you're really interested in Fine Arts then I would check other schools that are known for their art programs. Hope that helps!

PS- I'm currently at USC and thinking of transferring out, but I've got my own reasons for that, so if you want to know why I'm thinking of leaving USC feel free to ask, it may influence your decision to apply or it may not, otherwise no worries, it's still a great school!

I've done several animated shorts before and I am aims at get a degree in animation, so I won't apply for ather major to get in first, if USC did not get me, I probabely go to Calarts or Pratt .....those art school instead..........The only thing why I want USC so much is because it can transfer all my libral arts credits and its great location in LA........

why are you leaving? it's such a great place~~~
