USC ID for supplement?

I'm wondering if I can submit all my supplement forms for USC via mail. I just submitted my application and I won't get my student ID until 3-5 business days later to unlock my supplement forms; that's already past the deadline.

Should I submit everything through mail: essays, letter of rec, transcripts, etc... in one big folder?

Are you applying to a program that requires a supplement? Or by supplement do you mean your recommendation, transcript and unofficial score reports?

Yes, your application materials may be submitted in a larger envelope and mailed together. Be sure your official transcript and recomendation(s) are sealed.

If you cannot locate your USC ID#, use your name and birthdate - they will match it up with those. Other current applicants who have not yet submitted appear to have access to their USC ID#, so you might want to ask on the USC forum [University of Southern California - College Confidential](University of Southern California - College Confidential Forums) to see where you can find it. In the past it has displayed at the top left after you log into your application.

Post #8 here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/952301-new-applicant-toolkit.html?highlight=applicant+toolkit+2011</a> contains links to PDF versions of the forms that you can use instead of the ones that will be available in 3-5 days.

Good luck!

Thank you very much! By supplement I meant both the 3 forms and the materials for a specific department. Should I send those seperately?
The department of cinematic arts asks for recommendation letters. Does this mean I have copy another set of letters or can I use the same one on page 4?

Another question I have for the supplements is do the essays have the be in a specific format? (font, size, spacing?)

Also it asks to attach a word document (with the URL to my visual sample) to the online application. Where is this? Can I just burn it onto a CD and send it with the rest?

Hmmm… I have no information for you about SCA supplements. I’ll pm an applicant who is very familiar with the process and ask her.

hey, for the visual sample they want a document titled as such and then the url where the visual sample can be viewed. They don’t want a CD or DVD sent to them

as for both essays, there were no specs other than word counts, but I’d stick to standard fonts and spacing. Each essay, like all the documents should be titled properly with exactly what it is. The 3 letters of recommendation for SCA can be the same ones you used for the college, if that’s what you mean.

In case you haven’t upload your visual sample already, you could just upload it to youtube and send them that url once it’s uploaded

Great. So I don’t have to make additional copies of the letters?
Where exactly do we upload the document with the link? The only page I can go to is my application page. Everything else gives me a error: “This service is available to current Admission and Financial Aid applicants. We currently do not have sufficient information to process your request.Error code: 001”

Hmm… alamemom sent this to me. Last year I mailed in all of my stuff in a big yellow envelope, with one piece of paper that had a url to my visual sample and nothing else on it… I didn’t upload anything using the online portal. Maybe if you add a note onto the end of another supplement like “visual sample can be found here: —”?

They are trying a new system this year and would like all SCA supplement submissions made by uploading if at all possible.

To upload, go to USConnect and logon. Then click on Admissions, and on the next screen click on Admissions Documents (w/girl and guy staring hopefully into a laptop screen-heh–might find that on the upper right after you submit your main USC application. If you click on that, you’ll be offered 2 tabs. One says: “My documents” But the other one is the one you need. It says: Document Library and lists all docs that can be uploaded for SCA supplement for all SCA majors. Not all will apply to you, but here’s the list:

Document Library

You can click the doc you want to upload, and instructions follow.

If your teachers are willing to give you their LORs, you scan them into one document and upload that. They say that’s the method they prefer, but many teachers will not do this. In case your teachers do NOT want to give you the LORs to upload you may give them stamped addressed envelopes to the main USC admissions office, attention SCA, and they get delivered from there. If you don’t have your USC ID yet, you can have them put your SSN on those letters.

Hope this wasn’t too confusing!

I think I’ll get it once I can open that link. Right now, it might not be avaiable since it hasn’t been a business day to approve of my application?

I just noticed on their website it states that I “must” upload it via online…Though I think I’ll still have problems and prefer to do it by mail…I just want to make sure I still can.
