USC Marshall School of Business or UCSD Management Science

Since my family is middle class living in the SF bay area, USC did not give us a penny of financial aid, meaning that we will have to pay full tuition.

USC:
Pros:
-Trojan network (great for my intended major)
-Dual degree program, more flexibility in job market
-Marshall highly ranked
-Located in LA for great internship opportunities (this can also be a con, read on)

Cons:
-Expensive, $100k more in total for 4 years
-Located in LA, not too great of a neighborhood

UCSD (Marshall):
Pros:
-La Jolla is a beautiful neighborhood
-Right by the beach
-Cost is half as much

Cons:
-Networking is not as strong (in fact I've heard complaints that the career advisors are terrible but that may just be the people I know)
-Class sizes are much larger due to it being a public school
-Management science is an economics degree, not a business one

While UCSD has less pros and more cons, USC's cost factor is a HUGE con to me. What I want to know is if the trojan network and the education advantages presented by USC are worth the extra $100k in total.

I know I have to option of going to UCSD for my first two years and then transferring to USC but I'm not sure about that because I want to get work experience/internships early on. I have read that it is difficult for UCSD economics/management sci major to receive internships because UCSD is mostly known for their biologically sciences, engineering, so on.

How difficult would it be to transfer? Because I know that USC Business/Accounting has different course requirements than UCSD's Management Science.
And which school would be my best bet at landing internships early on??
And is the USC network really worth that extra $120,000?

Go to USC if you think your future career is a worthy investment. If you are willing to work hard and go places, USC will open doors for you, especially as a business major. The tuition is nuts, but once you get out you’ll definitely be making more than if you studied management science at UCSD. Fight On buddy.

Thanks for the feedback!
Also if anyone has any experience in transferring from UCSD into USC’s Marshall School of Business it would be much appreciated if you could give your advice since I’m highly considering it now.
As in…how hard would it be to get a 3.7-3.8 GPA in Management Science my first year at UCSD?

As a college student do you really think going to a college surrounded by multi-million dollar homes is a good thing? And yes, career advisors are really BAD at all UC’s. It’s sink or swim on your own accord.

If your parents will pay, 'SC is a no-brainer. 'SC does take a lot of transfers, so it would be a waste to attend SD with the idea of transferring. Go to your local juco instead.
