USC (marshall) vs. BC (carroll) vs. U of Michigan (ross) vs. NYU (stern)

USC (marshall) vs. BC (carroll) vs. U of Michigan (ross) vs. NYU (stern)

I am trying to decide between University Of Michigan-Ross School of Business, New York University-Stern School of Business, University of Southern California-Marshall School of Business, and Boston College-Carroll School of Management. I am accepted into all of these undergraduate business programs. For a specific major, I am undecided. I am from outside of Los angeles, so USC is the convenient choice for the high school transition, but lacks the undergrad b-school prestige of the other 3 schools, although it is more prestigious as an entire university. The cost is not an issue because it is about the same at every school. Please give me help on where to choose, taking into account business school opportunities, quality of life, recruitment, grad school admissions, etc. AS well as overall university experience.

This is a massive question. I will rank these schools based on personal opinion and knowledge according to the credentials you are looking at.

Opportunities?

  1. Michigan (best chance at national hiring)
  2. Stern / Carroll
  3. USC

Quality of Life?
Only you can answer this question. Very generally, USC and Michigan feel large. NYU and BC tend to feel smaller. USC and NYU are urban. BC and UM are suburban

Recruitment?

  1. Michigan (overall best)
    NYU- best for finance
BC- best for New England region and has best overall program of the 3 IMO
    USC- best for West

Grad school?
All will give the opportunity you to enter pretty competitive graduation programs.

thank you for ur input, i appreciate it. From my threads i’ve been realizing that USC is so popular within my school and my city, etc. but umich and Nyu seem to be more popular nationally

Yeah I’m debating between Michigan, Stern, and Carroll too and I would major for finance.

I think Stern and Michigan are better programs than Carroll but it’s probably not that big of a difference.

I’m not sure how good Stern is exactly because on the US News ranking it is ranked 5th but on businessweek it is 15th…

I think that fit is what should matter between Stern and Michigan because the city life and campus life are completely different.
