My D got into University of Southern California Marshall (with Full Tuition Scholarship and GLP - Global Leadership Program) and Carnegie Mellon - Tepper (No Scholarship).
We live in California.
Which would be a good school with and without the money factor?
If she wants to work in California, then she cannot go wrong with USC. It all really depends on what she wants to do. Tepper is very good if she wants to go into quantitative finance or work on Wall Street but USC is much better for real estate or any finance related job on the west coast. You would be saving a lot of money by going to USC too. Plus USC offers more of the college experience. My friend who was being recruited by Carnegie Mellon for soccer went there and said it was extremely boring, a lot of computer science majors who do nothing but study. USC really has it all: academic reputation, social life, athletics, location, etc. I would choose USC in a heartbeat and honestly, she will not be at any disadvantage in the job market at both business schools. It just comes down to where she feels she fits in best. Good luck!
