USC Merit Scholarship Interviews

Can anyone shed some light on what the interviews are like for the presidential and trustee scholarships? Or have any examples of what goes on/what do they talk about in these interviews?

Can I ask…Does USC reimburse for hotel and transportation costs for these interviews? Or are they done by skype?

@mom2collegekids, USC reimburses airfare upto $200. The students stay in the dorm on the floor of current students’ room. I am not aware of Skype as an option.

Thanks!! I was wondering. Boy, $200 for airfare isn’t much. Is there much notice to book flights or are they rather last minute?

Kind of - it took me so long to find out about hosting and then interview times that I was only able to book today :frowning: tickets went up over $200 from the initial notice two weeks ago.

They get about 1 month notice about the interviews. Specifics on airfare reimbursement reported from <a href=“Advice and Tips on Interviewing for Trustee/Presidential Scholarships! - #12 by 2018dad - University of Southern California - College Confidential Forums”>Advice and Tips on Interviewing for Trustee/Presidential Scholarships! - #12 by 2018dad - University of Southern California - College Confidential Forums; :

"Student Travel Reimbursement

Students who need to fly to Los Angeles will receive monetary assistance to offset a portion of their ticket cost. Students from CA, AZ, or NV will receive half the cost of their ticket, up to $60. Students from other states and outside of the country will receive half the cost of their ticket, up to $200."
