If we are selected for the scholarship interview, does USC offer any reimbursement for travel costs?

Good question! I want to know as well. :)

I don’t think so… but I don’t know for sure.

I was just about to ask this too!
By searching around it appears that USC offers a $200 travel voucher for flight costs:

I live in Florida and my EFC will most likely be $0, and I haven’t found any flights to LA during the interview times that cost much less than $400. So I wonder, has anyone heard of special consideration for reimbursement beyond the voucher?

eesachs, haven’t heard of any in the past. But you should think about your FinAid situation carefully. Chances are, with an EFC of $0, you would actually get more through need-based financial aid than through one of the merit awards. In other words, should you 1) get an invitation for Trustee (full tuition), 2) pay to travel out for the interview, 3) be lucky enough to be selected to receive the Trustee–the amount of your award might then likely be subtracted from your FinAid grant anyway. Since any FinAid package will take the total COA (including tuition, travel, books, room & board, etc) and then subtract scholarships, you may not gain anything big. OTOH, if your family’s financial situation is due to change (upward) that might suggest a merit scholarship would at least be stable?
