Hi there!
Okay, so it's my dream to go to USC for film. A friend of mine who is in the industry went there so he suggested I also attend school there and then I just totally fell in love with the school.

Here's the deal though, my GPA was a 3.2 last fall and I planned on raising it. Well, I started not doing well in this chemistry class I was taking and I went to my counselor on the first week of school and asked him if I could switch teachers or something and he said no, I had to keep taking that class. Okay, so I kept taking it and I BARELY passed the first semester so I went to him again and he said that I could start this credit recovery thing on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I pointed out that I couldn't do it all in that small amount of time, but my counselor said just to go and it would work out in the end... well that was all for nothing and I ended up failing that semester.

That brought my GPA down to a 2.9.
I made up the class and got a 72 in summer school. I don't know what my GPA is now though because I can't check it on the site anymore.

Is there anyway I can raise my GPA FAST?

Also: I'm not sure if this helps my chances but I'm getting a recommendation letter from a family friend who teaches at USC and I row crew. Oh and I haven't my SAT yet because I'm terrible at math and I'm kinda afraid.

Thank you.
And PLEASE no one leave me a lecture about how I should've "tried harder" and stuff because you don't know the full story.

Oh, and I know I could go to community college for a year or two but I'm afraid that it will be weird being a freshman in college when I'm 20 or 21...

ETA: I'm also applying to the University of Texas and maybe Baylor. I'd LOVE to go to a school around Portland, Seattle, or San Francisco, but I don't know what schools up there are good. I want to major in film, theatre, or MAYBE political science.
