USC or Penn State

Okay, guys...I need some major insights.

I'm currently a freshman at Penn State right now, planning on majoring in Advertising and minoring in Economics. My ultimate goal is work in the movie advertising industry as an analyst, or just something within that industry. I've maintained a good gpa of 3.73 when I applied to USC as a transfer into the Annenberg School of Communication for the Communication major. I will be likely finishing Spring semester with a 3.75-3.9 range. I haven't gotten in, or I don't even know if I will get into USC, but since my gpa is above average for the transfer acceptance rate, I am assuming if all goes right, which school I should go to/stay at?

I'm originally from Seattle, so I pay out of state tuition at Penn State, but since I have close relatives here in PA, I will get in-state tuition after my freshmen year. I've some friends at USC and they got really, really good aid (in grants and scholarships), so that's a big reason why I applied in the first place. Also, because I want to work in the advertising industry for film/tv, I want to be in a more metropolitan area for internship/job opportunities, and I feel the connections at USC are stronger in that particular field compared to Penn State. I plan to keep my gpa high because I want to keep grad school an option, but that's not the worry right now. The big thing that attracts me to USC is the awesome majors/minors available. I really want to gain some skills with graphic design and communication design, which Penn State does not offer. I also plan on double majoring in Public Policy and Communication if I get in and go to USC.

I'm currently super involved at PSU with the school's biggest newspaper, television network and LGBT, but I feel that I need to move into a more challenging environment. If I get into USC and get a good aid package, will it be worth going? A part of me would go in a heart beat, but another part of doesn't want to leave the friends behind. But I know education always comes first. I've heard many good things about Annenberg and I know I want to pursue a career in the Communication field, so I thought USC would be the best choice in the west coast. Any opinions or inputs would be great! Thanks.

Edit: Also, I want to work in the LA area or in CA upon graduation. I love east coast, but I want to definitely come to west coast to work and live.

Yes, given your goals, if USC admits you and provides financial aid to make costs similar, I would transfer.
