Hey I'm trying to find out my chances of getting into the communications school at USC.
I live in the state of Washington. I go to a pretty big school that typically has a few kids go to Ivy league type schools.

GPA: ~3.7 in all IB classes, Four years of spanish
SAT: 2070 (superscored)
Reading: 740
Math: 620
Writing: 710

Extra Curriculars:
Varsity Basketball (2 years, junior senior)
Varsity XC ( 2 years, frosh soph)
Varsity Track (all 4 years)
Between the summer of sophomore and junior year I was in a play that my school took to the world famous Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland
Was in a select choir that went to Japan freshman year and Washington DC in 8th grade
Worked twice as a camp counselor
Worked at Hollister for a year
Attended various journalism workshops
Leadership:
3 years in the school newspaper (copy editor junior year, editor-in-chief senior year)
Volunteering to help put on local communtity races
Served as a page twice for the State Legislature

Your numbers are just slightly under the average for students admitted to the class of 2012 (3.8 and 2108, I think), so you have a decent shot. It's good that you have ECs that relate to your proposed major - be sure to weave a communications theme into your application so that you are seen as a good fit for Annenberg (i.e. highlight the journalism and theatre activities).

If you spell it as Annernburg your chance goes from "possible" to "improbable". If I were a reader of the applications there would be a few things more irritating than an applicant who professes their love for the school but has not bothered to look up the spelling. Not trying to be nasty, just warning against a common mistake.

Your intended major seems to be PJ, which is competitive but not to the extent that Cinema is. When we visited last year and toured the department, the tour guide (an adcom member) said that some of their most compelling essays come from students who have taken the time to compare and contrast Annenberg's programs to similar institutions, e.g., the "other" Annenberg, Syracuse, Michigan, etc.
