I am a student from Canada in 4th year of undergrad. Have been accepted into USC and UCLA Law and will choose one of these two schools. In both cases the financial package will be good so cost is not a factor. Will likely be unable to visit the schools before deciding. I am aware of:
- UCLA in a better neighborhood, USC in a more dangerous neighborhood
- USC with the tremendous alumni network
- USC smaller classes, perhaps more faculty attention and support? Potentially important for somebody from Canada with no family/friends in LA
I don’t know how the living situation would compare. Whether it would be best to live on or off campus at each school? My background is heavily sports related, and I’ve been getting mentored by a hockey agent past couple years, and am hoping to get into the sports agent business with my law degree. This is the #1 factor I want to consider in making this decision. Is one school better in this respect? I’m currently leaning USC because I’m thinking the alumni network might be too good to pass up on based on my career goals. What are your guys thoughts? And have I missed any important info?
