I’m deciding whether to attend UCSB (for Fall 2016) or USC (for Spring 2017). I’m majoring in philosophy at UCSB and philosophy, politics, and law at USC. I’m going into college with a Pre-Law Emphasis, but I’m not sure which school is a better value choice for me. I have a huge financial restraint on where I choose to go to college. My dad is influencing me to go to UCSB, but I would love to be a Trojan and enjoy the opportunity at USC. What is the better value option, for a future Law School Student, USC or UCSB?
@taka89 , since value is your main concern, are you able to compare your financial aid, merit, and total COA? How do the two schools compare regarding your costs? (I don’t think USC has released its financial aid yet, has it? If not, you might want to wait until you can make that comparison before deciding between the two)
I’m in the exact same situation. I don’t think USC is about to grant me 30k so I am coming to terms with UCSB. I too plan on getting a graduates degree so that’ll add to my debt. All I can say to you is prepare for UCSB and don’t get your hopes up.
