I've been accepted to usc and the University of Edinburgh, and I was wondering where I should go.

Any help will be appreciated!

In particular, I have a few questions I was hoping someone could answer for me.

1) Which school is more prestigious?
2) I'm planning on going to grad school in the us (regardless of whether i go to nyu or edinburgh), so which school will help with that better? advising and other stuff...
3) which school is easier to get A's?
4) and any other information you think that will be helpful for me to make this decision.

fruitchews I am curious what your major would be at the University of Edinburgh? My father attended there way back in the 70’s for a PhD in theology. Edinburgh is a beautiful city with an incredible castle . Transportation is very easy on buses and trains. The winters are long , cold and dark. i think you should disregard the question which school would be easier to get an A. And instead look at the expereince and opportunities at each college and in particular the department of which your major would be. Have you visited Edinburgh? What made you decide to apply there?

How about the best of both worlds: attend USC and study abroad at Edinburgh for a semester or a year. My kiddo took that path, and very much enjoyed it.

The educational style at Edinburgh (and UK univerities in general) is a bit different - not as “interactive” or discussion-based as in the US, and there aren’t generally incremental quizzes, midterms and assignments - just lecture and LOTS of reading and then a final and/or a paper at the very end. I am not saying that is better or worse - just that it is different from what you may be accustomed to here in the US. While not having a lot of tests throughout the semester sounds kind of nice, it makes the final very much an all-or-nothing element.

im also choosing between nyu and usc. personally, since i live in ny, i realy do favor the hipster scene a lot. i kno that LA is a large hipster area, but i didn’t know whether usc had them. im leaning towards usc, because im dying to see whats out there.
