The USC School of Policy, Planning and Development has received a $50 million gift from the charity established by the founder of the Price Club chain. The late Mr. Price earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the university. His wife, Helen, was also a graduate as well as their grandson. He made a success in retailing and in real estate investments.

Robert Price, their son and president of the Price Family Charitable Fund, said SC's public policy programs in real estate, urban planning and health administration dovetail with his father's endeavors.

The funds will be used to establish the USC Price Center for Social Innovation, fund fellowships and faculty projects at the school.
