Should I have been rejected from USC engineering?
1380 sat (670 M 710 V)
690 math2c 630 chem 630 writing
96/748 rank, 4.0 W gpa (5.0 IB scale, regular class 4.0)
impressive essay (mathematically described a brekdance move and related it to my life) / great EC's (main hook is national breakdance champion and co-captain of school hiphop team, tons of volunteering / tutoring, )
counseler rec (good? counseler sorta dumb)

I would think the only thing that would have seriously held you back was your rank. How competitive is your school?

School is pretty competitive, one of my friends got a 1510 SAT, and was top 23% and got into engineering. So I don't think the rank would cause me automatic rejection. The beginning of freshman year I made a 3.3 weighted gpa, and by the end of junior year i made a 4.4 w gpa. So i drastically improved my gpa throughout high school.

No one is a shoo in to any school and a USC is looking for a lot, it's getting more competitive. Your essays could have been sub par or your recommendations. A 670 math is also low for engineering.

yeah SAT math was too low, that's all. A 700+ would have done it :(

You know what, I think lolok might b right.
