Hello!
It is coming down to the wire where we have to decide where we will be attending our last few years of college.
I am coming from a small private school in CA. I got accepted into UCLA’s DMA program. I am currently waiting on USC.
I can’t decide between the two programs/schools. They are so different.
I am interested in pursuing graphic design in the advertising world. I am interested in package design, branding, and website. I also love to mix graphic design with other mediums, such as photo and painting. I eventually want to be a Creative Director at a highly visual company. (freepeople, west elm, volcom, apple)
I really want to get the best out of my design classes, while having opportunities after college.
If anyone is in these programs or has graduated from them- I would love the insight!!
I’d suggest posting your question here:
[Visual Arts & Film Majors](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/visual-arts-film-majors/)
I go to USC and my best friend is a design major at USC. She said that USC has a program that is unlike any other but the only burden is tuition. She is going to be leaving USC with 240,000 in loans, which I’m not sure how anyone can pay off as a design major. Honestly I just don’t understand who would pay 60k vs 13k for university. I’m transferring from USC to UCLA because the atmosphere is just ridiculously materialistic and not like the college campus I envisioned. That’s just my two cents- to each his own, though! Good luck!
@SmartWorker how is it materialistic? is the atmosphere unfriendly? what is your major/ year
@arielirby I went to USC for the past two years and I loved my friends, but a large portion of students at USC are very stuck up due to their family wealth. Many students are “trust fund babies” and it is vey common to be looked down upon if you are not in a top house/greek life in general. I am a business major and I am a sophomore.
