I would really appreciate you guys if you helped me out here.

Freshmen at a CCC. So far in my fall quarter I finished 19 Units with a 3.5 GPA.

Since I didn't acquire 45 units (I'm going by quarter system, 45 quarter = 30 semester) so
they are going to look at my high school work.

My HS GPA I would say 3.2ish? (Yeah sad face)

Also would they look at SAT scores? If so mine are around the 1700s

As for my volunteer work and extracurriculars I've been part of an organization who helps out my home state in another country raise money for doctors and such. Started since I was 13 and still volunterr for them now (I'm now 19).
I also have 2 months work experience so far (Recently got a job)
I also have volunteered at rehab centers and a children pre-schools (Probably accumalated over 70+ hours here)

As for my essay I think it was well written.

I know I won't be a top candidate but just wondering if I have a spec of hope.

^I edited to add more input. Sticking to my no Chances policy ;), I will throw this out for you to think over:

Not a competitive candidate for USC as a fr.
Completed 1 sem at a CCC with a 3.5 gpa.
SAT a couple hundred pts below the 25% level for fr admits.

So, the question I would be asking myself is, does a 3.5 for 1 semester @ a CCC make up for a poor 4 yr HS record and low test scores?

Mmm thanks for the help! I just wanted to know if it was worth $70 lol. I’ll make sure to try in my CCC so I can transfer to USC next year! Thanks for all the help

Keep improving and I’m sure you’ll have many excellent choices as a jr transfer. Despite their current budget problems, CA has a great public U system, between those and privates, there are many possibilities.

I say apply. Right on USC’s transfer admissions page they clearly state that they LOVE upward trends and take that into account. Since your gpa is higher it seems you underwent an upward trend=apply. Also, if you have great letters of rec (if your major requires it) and a great essay, you actually CAN stand a chance. At least, that’s my two cents, and I am applying as a sophomore as well with similar stats. Just be sure the rest of your application compensates for your gpa. Best of luck!
