Hello,
I am currently attending CSULB as a freshman. (Got a 3.2 my first semester here) (A,A,B,B,C)
(Well a 3.4 overall with my Community college classes weighed in) (A,A,B)
I recently applied to Usc as a transfer student, and got a request for my Spring grades!
I am doing very well this semester, in finals right now, I expect to get a 4.0 - 3.4 range. (All A’s and B’s)
TBH a 3.4 is low for a school like USC. A 4.0 would be optimal obviously but an SGR could really mean anything about this point
Well, it’s not necessarily a good or bad thing; it’s more neutral. USC obviously sees potential or they would have just rejected you outright. If you get anywhere from 3.7-4.0 this semester, your odds will be really great! However, sometimes USC can be harsh. I got a 3.9 my spring semester and was rejected. I really think this is counselor specific though as at least two other people from my community college had nearly identical stats as mine, got an SGR, got one B - and bam, rejected. Just striving to do your best is really all you can do at this point
I didn’t even expect to get a SGR at all!
Probably since
-My brother and dad went to USC (very successful there)
-Meet the CSULB transfer guy personally.
-I worked super hard on my essays
But my lowest grade rn is an 87, I am confident on getting a 4.0 or 3.6 at least.
All I can do is hope for the best!
Thanks for responding so fast!
