How many teacher recs does usc need?
can you include more than they require?

i had a question about this too. do you only get the usc recs after you submit your entire application? If that's the case, that's a huge inconvenience.

does anyone know about usc recs?
where does the teacher put your usc id number if the school uses their own form to fill out?

Southern California or South Carolina?

All I remember from my visit last year was that they will read all the recommendations that you send no matter what. They used the example of a girl that got in a few years ago that actually sent in 17 recs!! And they read them all.

I sent in two, and I suggest you send at least one, two if you can get another stellar recommendation.

Assuming it is University of Southern California...

noob, you ask for recommendations as soon as possible to give teachers/counselors plenty of time. The form is available here: http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/private/0910/Form4.pdf As long as they include your USC ID they may send them anytime and they will be in your file when your application is submitted.

sushirave, USC requires one recommendation, but you may submit more if you wish. My D submitted two teacher recommendations and one counselor report using the above form.

If you have the USC barcode stickers, give some to each recommender/counselor and ask them to put it on the top of their recommendation. (It helps to provide them a packet of information including dates, deadlines, and addresses, so just include the stickers with instructions in that packet.) If they prefer not to use the sticker, just have them type the USC ID# next to your name.

My son sent in three: one from the counselor (rigor of schedule, etc), one from a teacher (what is he like in the classroom), and one from the principal (what kind of citizen/leader is he). That pretty much summed him up for the admissions people. Send in as many as you like. They only require one, which tells you that one is enough, right?

DD made them the same as the common application process to simplify the admission process for her, ie she did not have to keep track which school needs what. So in short, she sent one extra teacher recommendation to USC.

would it be too much to send in two teachers, one counselor, and one additional (such as a music conductor)?

sushirave, that should be fine as long as each rec tells something new about you.

Our chuckle for the week.

On the link you provided it says Freshman only.
I am a transfer applicant, and the teachers agreed to write the recs anyway, so can I still use that form?

Your link can probably be found on the online transfer application. USC - University of Southern California

I only sent one.
