Well, I have been accepted to both and am trying to decide between those schools and UTAustin. Any advice or info would be great.

Oh, sry, that probably didn't make sense. I have been accepted to USC(electrical/biomed engineering), Umich(EE), and UTAustin(EE). Any reason as to why I should choose one over the other?

Private schools will take care of you more than public:D

anything else?

There are lots of topics on this. Of course, it comes down your decision, but you can't go wrong with USC.

I don't see any topic comparing the two schools.

I believe intelliot meant that there are many topics explaining why people should choose USC in general. I think those will point you to all the benefits of USC. I personally don't know anything about UT, other than football, so I couldn't help you, except for just pointing out the great things about USC (which you'll find often in the other threads).

UT's housing is a big mess... even as a freshman, you generally have to send in your ($75) housing app before you apply in order to get a spot.

One of my friends is a CS major at UT:Austin, and he says that although there are some things to do, he just plays World of Warcraft. Not sure if everyone else is like that...

Yeah I'm not gonna start playing mmorpgs they suck the soul out of you.

definitely...

I know I didn't seriously apply to UT b/c so many people I know go there... but it was a good backup school since I was automatically admitted.

Ya, all my friends are going to UT too lol, but it's still a dam good school with an awesome engineering department.

USC is great and will give you the private school experience that the others could never give to you, but I heard Michigan is FANTASTIC for engineering.

Just playing devil's advocate.

The advantage to USC, is that they have good academics throughout. Should you choose to change your major, you will stilll have a top quality education.

True, but same for UT they are strong in so many areas.
