I am going in to my freshman year at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and I am hoping to transfer to USC for sophomore year. I was hoping for advice on what GPA I will need and other things I can do to bolster my transfer application!

High school stats:
GPA: 4.1 (3.7 UW)
SAT: 2100

Major: Industrial Engineering

Hey bud!
Try getting as close to a 4.0 as possible (utmost priority) and see if you can develop some EC’s. Preferably internships. Does SLO not offer a strong Industrial Engineering program? Because you’ll need a reason as to why you want to transfer. Also you may find that SLO is a great fit for you so I would say really try to immerse yourself as a student at SLO: make friends, get involved, take advantage of the opportunities there, try to reach out to your professors, and have fun. If after that you still feel the burning desire to transfer to USC then by all means go for it.
