USC Transfer Question for Fall 2009

Hey all...I just got some quick questions about transferring to USC.
My avg. GPA should be 3.5 by the end of winter and if I get straight A's through Spring I can achieve a 3.8 with 36 units. I want to transfer to USC as an Anthropology major but was wondering what my chances are... I know its a tough school to get into but I really would like to go to a 4 year Uni by my Sophomore year. My other option is to go to Chapman but thats not really somewhere I would like to go.

I work for my mom at her business which is pretty big in LA (she owns a fabric import/export for Nordstroms/Walmart/etc.)

Would I stand a chance? How competitive is Anthropology?
Any reccs for other Uni's that I can transfer to within a year?

Thank you!

They won't see winter grades right now. What's your current GPA?

I havent sent my Application yet but my current GPA after fall was 3.21

3.2 won't cut it, what year are you? what were your hs stats? what are your ec's?

Im a freshman and Im doing my winter semester right now (6 week course). Then I have the spring semester left.

Bluntly, don't count on it.

So I would pretty much have to stay at the CC for another year for a good chance =P
Damn

Yep. They like to see upward trends. Show them that and your chances would be much much better. In the past, the average GPA was about 3.8. Last year it went down to 3.65. I'm almost positive that it will rebound back up in the coming years. Use that as a reference and set your goals accordingly.

Okay well I have a question though. What did you mean they wont see my Winter grade? I plan to send my app when Winter ends (Early Feb). Dont they also check my Spring grades if they request it? I didnt know that Anthropology would be so competitive.
