Comp Eng/Sci. Please rank with and without costs: U-M $230K, USC $80K, UW-Seattle $110K.
You cannot go wrong with any of these schools – congrats on getting in! I love UW and if it’s the cheapest and you don’t need to borrow much, then go. I also went to UM and it’s very, very cold during the long winters, and is also humongous compared to USC. You might feel overwhelmed by its size unless that sort of thing doesn’t bother you. Of all of the alumni connections, only USC and Michigan are truly national in scope, again if that sort of thing matters, largely due to football and the brand name. UW is gorgeous and I love the campus; and if you want to work at MSFT or AMZN, then UW will open the doors wider than all three, at least in Seattle. Best of luck.
You’ll get the same education at all of them. Still, I’d lean toward UW and USC both because they’re cheaper than Michigan, and because of all the computer-related companies in Seattle and LA. CE/CS programs and local computer businesses tend to have a very symbiotic relationship, and evidenced by Stanford, Berkeley, and Silicon Valley.
Chose USC. Entrepreneurial CS dept; small class size; easy access to labs/profs; west coast connections. There is a unique fit for everyone.
