1) USC: Free tuition!
2) UC's: Regents Scholarship (5500 for UCLA, 1000 for UCB)
3) Johns Hopkins: virtually no financial aid
4) Brown: virtually no financial aid

I have no clue which to pick! I really would rather not go to USC or a UC, but I would also be plagued with guilt for making my parents pay almost $50,000 per year for JHU or Brown when I could be taking advantage of the Trustee Scholarship at USC or the lower tuition of the UC's.

Any advice? (I'm going to be pre-med and will major in something biology-related)

You are talking about SO much money. Even Berkeley or UCLA, you are talking about a lot more money. I don't see how you can turn down USC, especially since you want to go onto med school, which means a lot of money, and USC would be a good place to prepare for that.

I'm as big a Hopkins booster as you will find but, I must say, I'd be hard pressed to argue that a Hopkins' undergraduate education is worth $200,000 more than a USC education (maybe it would be worth $200,000 more than a Brown education though [just kidding]. Seriously, if the money packages were similar I would be recommending Hopkins among that group---but obviously the packages are not similar.

BTW, it probably wouldn't hurt to let JHU's financial aid office know that you got a free ride at USC. It probably won't make much of a difference, but what do you have to lose?
